My apartment isn't that big and every time I cook something it smells for days. How can I stop that?

I can't open the windows right now because its freezing outside, and I've tried febreze, candles and it will work for a few hours, any tips will be more than great. ThanksI do have a vent fan and I do use it, I even let it on after cooking to see if it will take the odors away. I will have to try the vinegar and get back to you on that. Thanks everyone

You should have some sort of vent in the kitchen to pull cooking odors out of the area. If so, run it while you are cooking. Otherwise, you'll just have to wait till spring so you can open a window and blow a fan thru the kitchen to move the air to the window.

Simmer a pot of vinegar and water very slowly when you are cooking. Electric potpourri pots work the best. You just need to keep topping it up with vinegar and water.

After you are done cooking, clean the grease spatters off your stove right away, and do your dishes right after you are done eating. I cut up lemons and run them through my garbage disposal. You can make a solution that you can simmer on the stove. In a small pot of water add lemon peels, orange peels. some apple slices, cinnamon sticks, cloves, all spice. Don't leave this unattended. Get some Oust or Lysol spray to clean the air. Hope this helps.

Don't you just hate that about winter? Amen to the vinegar. And leave the bowl out. Vinegar absorbs odors. Also, consider using a vinegar and water solution in a spray bottle to wipe off countertops, the stove, hood, and even the cabinets. Moving away from the kitchen... spritz all the fabric-covered furniture and drapes with Febreze. I feel your pain! Best of luck.
