Beautiful caramel color with perfect blend of flavors. Serve with your favorite Christmas pudding.
1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
1/2 cup granulated sugar
3 tbsp. cornstarch
1 cup water
1/4 cup butter or hard margarine
2 tbsp. lemon juice, fresh or bottled
1 tsp. rum flavoring
Makes 1 2/3 cups sauce
Mix both sugars and cornstarch in saucepan.
Add butter, lemon juice and rum flavoring.
Heat and stir until it boils and thickens.
