) and my doctor did give me the option of taking misoprostol to start the m/c but I did not take it. He did say that if I took it (and it worked) that I would need to wait 3 months before trying to conceive again because the medication needed to be completely out of my system and I needed that time to build up my uterine lining. I have a friend who took misoprostol for a missed miscarriage and she said it took about 3 hours after inserting the pills before her contractions started. She did not experience any complications and passed everything naturally. She did say it was an all day process.When you decide to take it, do have a heating pad or hot water bottle handy. Also, ask if you can take vicodin or another strong painkiller with the misoprostol. It does cause some pretty painful contractions and you want to be prepared.(((HUGS)))
