8 cups all-purpose flour
1/3 cup baking powder
2 teaspoons salt
8 teaspoons granulated sugar (optional)
1 cup solid shortening
Mix together flour, baking powder,
salt and sugar.
Use a pastry blender and cut in
shortening to the dry mixture
until it resembles coarse meal.
Store in well-sealed container in
cupboard or keep it fresh longer
by storing, sealed, in the refrigerator.
To make biscuits, add 1/3 cup milk
for each cup of biscuit mix used.
Bake biscuits at 450 degrees F for
12 to 15 minutes.
