Recipe Feeder
2 1/2 lb sour apples, peeled, cored and sliced 1.15 kg
3 1/2 lb ripe tomatoes, peeled and chopped 1.5 kg
5 medium onions, peeled and chopped 5
3 cloves garlic, crushed and chopped finely 3
2 cups brown sugar 500 mL
2 1/2 cups malt vinegar 600 mL
1 tbsp coarse salt 15 mL
1 tsp ground ginger 5 mL
1/8 tsp nutmeg 0.5 mL
1/4 tsp cayenne pepper 1 mL

Put apples and tomatoes in heavy pan with 1 cup/250 mL vinegar.

Simmer until tender, about 1 hour, stirring occasionally.

Add onions and garlic, then remainder of ingredients including the rest of the vinegar and simmer until thick, about 1 hour.

Stir often once the sugar is added.

Put into sterilized jars and seal. Store in cool place.
