These little baked treats contain a dough with flour, brown sugar & melted chocolate, shaped into small balls and topped with a nonpareil candy.

2 cups flour
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
2 cups brown sugar
1/2 lb melted butter
2 eggs, beaten
4 squares bitter (or unsweetened) chocolate, melted
1/2 tsp vanilla
1 lb nonpareils (candy)

Sift together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Mix together brown sugar, melted butter, eggs, flour mixture, chocolate and vanilla. Chill until easy to handle (several hours or overnight.) Make a small round ball about the size of a marble. Put a nonpareil candy on top and push down gently. The cookie dough should just show a little because it will spread out while cooking, and they look better when small. Bake at 375 for 10 minutes.
