To frost and serve large cakes, use a large tray, or a plain breadboard or one covered with paper or foil. Or outline the shape of the cake on cardboard and cut around it to make a backing for the cake.

Also, mix and match cakes and parties.

For tall cakes that must stand, slice off the bottoms to help them stand.
