2 tbsp granulated sugar
4 tbsp water
1 tbsp mint leaves
1 1/2 ounce Kentucky bourbon

Crush mint leaves into sugar in a mortar-pestle. add water. In silver julep cup, fill with crushed ice. pour 1 1/2 ounce KENTUCKY bourbon over ice. pour sugar/water mixture over the ice. Garnish with sprig of mint. Best enjoyed with a straw.
