Making pretzels in the shape of alphabet letters is a great way for kids to practice their ABCs. Little ones will love kneading, squeezing and stretching the pretzel dough, and the yummy snacks are perfect for stroller rides or school lunches. Kids will eat these up!

* 1 package dry yeast
* 3/4 cup warm water
* 1 tablespoon sugar
* Pinch of kosher salt
* 2 cups flour (use unbleached) white, whole wheat or a combination of the 2
* 1 egg

1. 5 minutes before youre ready to begin, mix the yeast and water together.
2. Preheat oven to 425°F Pour flour and sugar into a bowl and mix with fingers.
3. Add a pinch of kosher salt and mix.
4. Add water and yeast mixture, mix and form into a ball.
5. Generously sprinkle flour on table or cutting board.
6. Place dough on it and roll with a rolling pin for about 5 minutes.
7. Roll dough into long pencil-like coils, then shape into various alphabet letters.
8. Brush the dough with the beaten egg.
9. Sprinkle with salt, sugar or cinnamon.
10. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown
