2 cloves garlic, minced
1/4 cup salad oil
1/4 cup soy sauce
2 tbsp. ketchup
1 tbsp. vinegar
1/4 tsp. pepper
1 1/2 lbs. ground beef
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
1 can (13 1/2 oz) pineapple tidbits, drained
6 slices bacon

Mix garlic, salad oil, soy sauce, ketchup, vinegar and 1/4 tsp. pepper. Mix thoroughly meat, salt, and 1/4 tsp. pepper. Shape into 6 patties; press 5 or 6 pineapple tidbits into each.

Place patties in glass dish; pour oil mixture over patties. Cover; refrigerate 30 minutes, turning occasionally.

Remove patties from marinade. Wrap bacon slice around each patty; secure with wooden picks. Place patties on rack in broiler pan. Set oven control to broil and/or 550F. Broil 5" from heat 12 to 15 minutes, turning once. Or cook on hibachi over hot coals 8 to 10 minutes on each side.
