1/2 cup and 1/4 cup flour, separated
1/4 cup butter
1 onion, sliced
1 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon ground black pepper
1 clove garlic, minced
1/2 to 2 cup beef broth
1, 12 ounce can beer

Coat beef cubes with the 1/2 cup of the flour. Brown in melted butter. Drain off excess fat. Combine meat with onion salt, pepper, garlic, broth and beer in crockpot/slow cooker. Cover and cook on Low for 5 - 7 hours (or all day) until meat is tender.

Turn crockpot to High. Dissolve the remaining 1/4 cup flour in a small amount of water. Stir into meat mixture, cook on High for 30-40 minutes.
