Pizza dough

1 tsp. sugar
1/2 cup lukewarm water
1 tbsp. yeast (1 pkg.)
1/4 cup corn oil
1/2 cup lukewarm water
1 tsp. salt
2 1/2 cups all purpose flour

Dissolve sugar, 1/2 cup water and yeast in a bowl.
Let stand (covered) 10 minutes.
Mix in a large bowl oil, 1/2 cup water, salt and 1 1/4 cups flour.
Add yeast to this mixture and beat vigorously by hand.
Gradually beat in 1 to 1 1/4 cups flour.
Turn dough onto floured surface and knead 8 to 10 minutes.
Shape into smooth ball and place in a greased bowl.
Grease surface of dough also.
Cover with a damp cloth and let rise 45 minutes.
Use shortening to grease pan.
Spread dough on pan.
Bake in preheated oven 400F for about 25 minutes.
