Nothing beats a home made ketchup. In the GI diet, ketchup is a no no because I'm sure of the sugar content.
So try this and enjoy.
12 oz of low sugar and sodium tomato paste (I found Hunts the lowest)
1 1/3 C of cider vinegar (i like the apple cider)
2/3 C water
2/3 C Splenda sugar substitute
3/4 tbsp onion powder
1/2 tbsp garlic powder
1 tsp salt (optional)
1/4 tsb ground allspice
1/4 tsp ground cloves
1/4 tsp pepper
put all ingredients in a pot on medium high making sure not to boil, and simmer until the thickness is to your liking.
It will thicken more once it has cooled.
