Whole wheat cookies
Preheat oven to 350F
2 cups whole wheat flour
3/4 cup granulated sugar
3/4 cup brown sugar (packed)
2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 cup chopped walnuts (optional)
1 egg
1 cup softened butter or margarine
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt

In a large bowl, mix together sugar, butter, salt, egg and vanilla.
Blend well.
Mix in baking soda.
Add nuts and chocolate chips.
Gradually add flour.
Spoon dough onto non stick cookie sheets leaving space between each spot of dough.
Bake for 15 minutes or until edges of cookies start to brown.
Remove from oven and let cool.
