1 cup light corn syrup
3 cups sugar
1/2 cup water
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 egg whites
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup chopped nuts or candy cherries
Servings: 50
Combine syrup, sugar, water and salt in a 3 quart pan. Cook to hard ball stage (260 degrees). Beat egg whites in large mixing bowl until stiff. Gradually beat in boiling syrup. Add vanilla and continue beating until mixture will hold its shape when dropped from spoon. Add nuts or candied cherries. Drop from teaspoon onto waxed paper.
