1/2 cup shortening
2 tsp. powdered coffee
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
4 cups icing sugar
1/3 cup milk
1/2 cup cocoa
Blend shortening, egg, cocoa, coffee and salt.
Add sugar (sifted if lumpy) alternately with milk and vanilla, mixing until smooth.
If frosting is too thick to spread easily, add milk.
If frosting is too thin, add sugar.
