Any common household cleaners or personal care items that I can use to clean white leather & suede sneakers?

I already have scuff marks on my brand new mostly leather white sneakers. I'd like to keep them bright white. Window cleaner doesn't work. The toe tip is suede. Is there anything I already have around the house, like toothpaste or other things, that I can use to keep them in tip-top shape, without going to expensive commercial cleaners?

possibly baking soda and a tooth brush. since you have suede on the toe i wouldnt really advise anything too strong or you might end up ruining your shoes. They also do have a special polish for leather shoes, try bobs, dick's sporting goods, famous footwear, or small shoe stores. Good Luck

keep a container of those orange smelling towels even from the dollar store in your car etc,, for the leather. for the suade, i usually spray my new suade with a water/dirt proofing product like scotch gaurd or the stuff they sell at the shoe store. if you spray while new and keep a small nail type brush handy to clean frequently you should be in good shape. (my son has always been a clean shoe freak) so i have smelled every mixture known to man for shoe cleaning

I use Mr. Clean Magic Erasers on my shoes. They work great and their cheap.
