This is a pretty basic recipe - but I haven't gone near a milkshake since starting my glucophage. I'm also lactose intolerant - so all the more reason to stay away from these treats.

Ingredients:

sugar free / fat free vanilla ice cream ( 3 scoops )
Lactaid (or similar lactose-free brand ) milk ( 1.5 cups )
1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract

Blend and enjoy.

The lactose free milk will counteract the lactose in the ice cream.

I was able to make this and eat this on gluc without getting any sickness.

This comes to about 300 calories - for those watching their caloric intake - which isn't bad for a milkshake.
