How soon can you conceive after a miscarriage?

I just had a miscarriage on August 5th... I was only about 6 weeks along. I was wondering how long after a miscarriage is it possible to conceive? We would like to try again right away. My miscarriage was natural and not caused by any medical conditions. If it means anything we already have a 1 year old daughter which we had no trouble conceiving.

The say you should wait until you had at least one period to start trying - that will help you and the doctors to date your pregnancy and know how far along you are.

Hi Payton's Mommy,If you did not have a D & C or methotrexate (for ectopic usually), you probably won't have any reason to need to wait. Most doctors will recommend waiting until you've completed you first normal cycle.Some women will wait a few cycles so that they can heal physically and emotionally. ive lost 4 babies but i think you can get pregnant as soon as your ovulate i had a miscarriage on the 4th sept 07 then i did not have any bleeding after the loss so i did a test and it was positive and now i have a happy and healthy 1 year old boy and im expecting again and all going well and this baby was conceived after having a loss so it can happen just do it when your ready to do it like you say you have a 1 year old girl good luck x

Immediately. After my miscarriage I never even had my period and I was pregnant again. I miscarried that one too, unfortunately. The second one was last November and I'm still not pregnant again.

I had a miscarriage at 9 weeks last November, and it took me until this July to get pregnant again -- on clomid. I think you can try again right after your first period. For some people, it'll happen again right away. Some of us aren't so lucky.
