Pickleburgers

1 1/2 lbs ground beef
1/2 lb ground lean pork
1 cup milk
2 eggs, beaten
3 cups Wheaties cereal
2 tbsp. chopped onion
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. pepper
2/3 cup finely chopped dill pickle
1/4 cup plus 2 tbsp. dill pickle liquid
12 hamburger buns, split and buttered

heat oven to 350F. Mix thoroughly all ingredients except pickle, pickle liquid and buns. Shape mixture into 12 patties; place in greased jelly roll pan, 15 1/2 x 10 1/2 x 1". Bake uncovered 20 minutes. Mix pickle and pickle liquid; baste patties. Bake 30 minutes longer, basting occasionally. Serve in buns.
