Frankfritters

1 lb. frankfurters
2 tbsp. prepared mustard
1 egg
1/4 cup milk
1 tbsp. melted shortening
1/2 cup sifted flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
shortening for frying
4 to 6 servings
Slit frankfurters lengthwise and spread with mustard.
Press together.
Dip in batter made from egg, milk, melted shortening and dry ingredients.
Deep fry in shortening heated to 365F for 3 minutes.
Serve very hot.
