Variation of rice krispies squares

1/4 cup margarine
5 cups miniature marshmallows
5 cups Rice Krispies cereal
1 cup sweetened coconut
36 marachino cherries, well drained
2 square bittersweet or semi-sweet chocolate, melted
36 squares
In a large saucepan over low heat, melt margarine.
Add marshmallows; stir until melted and well blended.
Remove from heat.
Gradually mix in cereal and coconut, stirring until thoroughly coated.
Using lightly-buttered spatula, press firmly and evenly into buttered 2 L (9") square pan.
Score into 1 1/2" squares.
Using buttered finger, make deep depression in center of each square.
Press drained cherry into each depression.
Drizzle surface with melted chocolate.
Chill until set.
Cut into squares.
