Recipe Feeder
2 packages frozen chopped broccoli, thawed (10 oz/300 g each) 2 packages
1/4 cup chopped onion 60 mL
2 cups chicken broth 500 mL
2 tbsp butter 30 mL
1 tbsp flour 15 mL
2 tsp salt 10 mL
1/8 tsp mace 0.5 mL
dash pepper
2 cups light cream (half-and-half) 500 mL

In a medium-sized pan, combine broccoli, onion, and chicken broth; bring to a boil. Simmer for about 10 minutes, or until brocccoli is tender. Whirl broccoli mixture in blender until very smooth. Melt the butter in a pan; add flour, salt, mace, and pepper, stirring until smooth. Slowly stir in cream, then add broccoli purée. Cook over medium heat, stirring often, until soup bubbles. Serve hot.
