I will be traveling to Mexico CIty next month. Can anyone recommend a hotel that is about 50-60 dollors a day? A safe hotel, clean, and close to all turist sites. I would like to stay by Zona Rosa or in city. Thanks.

I stayed at what used to be called Hotel Viena (now Posada Viena Hotel) which is in Zona Rosa, but a few blocks from the "action" so it's a lot quieter. It's a small hotel (88 rooms) and it's not fancy. But the service was very good, the people were friendly, and the price was quite good for the area! Per their website, you can get a special deal if you book multiple nights.

Hotel PrimVersalles 46 Colonia JuarezMexico City, MXNothing fancy, but clean rooms and not far from Paso de la Reforma and the Zona Rosa. Our room was a good size (not a cubicle!) and had a refrigerator. The food in the restaurant was decent, and there's a bar. The room ran about $50 per night through Expedia. There's 24 hour security. There's Internet access in the lobby that you can pay for. I don't remember how much, but it was inexpensive. There's a grocery store, a café and several restaurants within walking distance. The Ripley's Believe It or Not Museum is close by. The American Embassy is about a 15-20 minute walk from the hotel.

Look...I will tell the best advice..as I discovered it...."Hotel Principado"..is in Londres 42 , Zona Rosa between Napoles and Dinamarca... ( 52) 55 55332944. $500 pesos ...less than 50 dlls. in the middle of the zona rosa, two blocks of the Ripley Museum, nice recepcionist ( brunette), safe, clean, (www.hoteldelprincipado.com.mx)..the only thing if that if you leave in midnight to the airport, tell the recepcionist that at what time you want the cab to the airport, as sometimes the cabdriver charges you with the excuse that the he was called to be 20 or 30 minutes before and tries to charge you that time...(plenty of bars and restaurants near around...go to the Rafaello)
