Chocolate in creamy, hot coffee. A luscious treat.
Use homogenized milk for a richer flavor.
1 cup milk
1/4 cup chopped dark chocolate (about 1 3/4oz)
3 tbsp. granulated sugar
4 cups milk
3 cups hot strong prepared coffee (see Note)
1 tsp. vanilla
12 large marshmallows
Serves 6
Heat and stir first 3 ingredients in large heavy saucepan on medium-low for 8 to 10 minutes until chocolate is melted.
Slowly add second amount of milk, stirring constantly.
Increase heat to medium.
Heat and stir until mixture is hot.
Add hot coffee and vanilla.
Stir well.
Makes about 8 cups.
Pour into 6 large mugs.
Top each with 2 marshmallows.
Note:
For extra-strong flavor, use espresso.
