pre-heat oven at 300*F.
Greased cookie sheet.
2 cups flour,
Pinch salt,
1 cup unsalted butter,
1 cup white sugar,
1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon,
1 egg, slightly beaten,
5 ml. water
1 cup slivered almonds.
Makes (Approx) 24
Combine, flour, salt, and cinnamon.
Cut in the butter to make a stiff dough.
Pat the dough into greased cookie sheet.
Mix water, and egg. Brush the surface of the
dough with water, and egg mixture.
Allow any surplus egg run off the surface of the dough.
Cover the top of the dough with slivered almonds so
that none of the dough shows through.
The amount of dough vary with the size of the cookie
sheet. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes.
Cut warm dough in to diamond shapes.
