Good on Welsh Cakes, or serve with assorted crackers.
8 oz. cream cheese, softened
2 tbsp. corn syrup
1/2 tsp. maple flavoring
3/4 cup chopped dates
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
3/4 cup finely chopped walnuts
Makes 1 log about 1 1/2" in diameter
Beat cheese, corn syrup and maple flavoring in small bowl until smooth.
Stir in dates and first amount of walnuts.
Chill overnight.
Shape into log.
Roll in remaining walnuts.
Chill until ready to serve.
May be frozen.
