My sister has developed a case of shingles, and she says it itches a lot. Can anyone tell me a way to soothe the itching and pain? It would help if you've had experience of it, or if you've studied it.
Regular use of oral benadryl seems to provide the most relief. Applying calamine lotion or using Aveeno bath product will also help. Sometimes a prescription is needed when all else fails. Hopefully, she is taking an anti-viral medication for this diagnosis in addition to regular use of a pain medication.
