5 tbsp all purpose flour 75 mL
1-1/2 lb potatoes, pared and grated 675 g
1 small onion, grated 1
1 egg, unbeaten 1
1-1/2 tsp salt 7 mL
1/8 tsp pepper 0.5 mL
1/2 tsp thyme 3 mL
Combine ingredients in the order given. Beat lightly to blend. Drop from a spoon into hot oil and fry until edges curl and desired shade of brown is reached. Fry on both sides and drain on paper towels.
