Trouble Defrosting Meats

The absolute BEST way to defrost any type of meat is to put it in the refrigerator and let it thaw. (Usually overnight.) It takes longer than microwaving it.

You can thaw in the microwave on the defrost setting, however the edges usually end up getting cooked that way. When defrosting in the microwave, I usually enter less weight than the package says to avoid cookage. However, doing such almost always leaves the meat a little frozen in the center. This does not affect cooking.
