What is the point of the TV show Jersey Shore?

There is seriously NO point to this show, it's just a bunch of douchebags fighting or making out or something. I don't understand why they would put this crap on TV, but the bigger question is, I don't understand who would watch this?

What's the point of Jeremy Springer, Real World, For the love of Ray Jay? It's for entertainment. Jersey Shore is about a bunch of party people who want to have fun in Jersey. I mean I can't believe you would ask this question isn't it obvious? There are a lot of shows on TV that don't make a point, or even make sense. If you don't like the show don't watch it stop complaining. It isn't offensive, its tv damn sensitive people!
