What happens after you have a late term miscarriage?

Since I have a high risk pregnancy, I have a greater chance of having a miscarriage than most women do past the 20 week mark. What happens when you have a miscarriage late in your pregnancy? Do you have to deliver, do they do a D&C?

At 20 weeks they still do abortions,so I'd say D&C. As for you being high risk,don't stress over it. Your baby will be fine you just have to occupy your mind and try to stay focused on the positive things! Good luck hun.

I know that here in Australia anything up to 21 weeks is a late term miscarriage and anything after 21 weeks is classed as a premature baby, I am not sure if this is the same in America, If it was a late term miscarriage you would probably need a d & c and if it was a premature baby they would do everything they could to help the baby
