Cherry Pound Cake

Rich and buttery. Very colorful.

1 cup butter or margarine, softened
1 cup granulated sugar
3 large eggs
2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup glazed red and green cherries, halved
Makes 1 loaf
Cream butter and sugar in large bowl until light and fluffy.
Beat in eggs 1 at a time.
Mix flour and cherries in separate bowl to coat cherries.
Stir into butter mixture until moistened.
Turn into greased 9 x 5 x 3" loaf pan.
Bake in 325F oven for 1 to 1 1/4 hours until an inserted wooden pick comes out clean.
Turn out onto rack to cool.
