Hot Water Pastry

2/3 cup shortening
1/3 cup boiling water
2 cups pre-sifted Monarch soft wheat flour
1/2 tsp. salt

Place in a bowl, shortening.
Pour water over top.
Beat with a fork until creamy and cold.
Blend together, flour and salt.
Stir dry ingredients into shortening mixture until dough forms a ball.
Cover with waxed paper and chill until firm.
Roll out and use as for Monarch Pastry.
