  • 2 Tbsp. honey
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 loaf French bread, sliced 1" thick
  • 5 eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 t. cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
pray a 9" x 13" pan with nonstick baking spray containing flour. Combine the honey, cream, butter, and brown sugar in a small saucepan and simmer until the sugar has melted, stirring frequently. Pour this mixture into prepared pan. Place the bread slices over the sugar-butter mixture in the dish. In large bowl, beat together the eggs, milk, vanilla, cinnamon and salt; pour this mixture over the bread. Cover the dish and refrigerate overnight.
The next morning, preheat oven to 350 degrees. Uncover the pan and bake for 30-38 minutes until golden brown and bubbly. Serve while hot or warm. Be sure to take out of the pan within a few minutes, since the French toast will harden in the pan. It can be reheated. Serves 8
