Ingredients:

* 3 Golden Delicious apples
* 1 1/2 lb Ground beef
* 1/2 c Soft bread crumbs
* 1/4 c Finely chopped onions
* 1 Egg
* 1 ts Salt
* 1/4 ts Pepper
* 1/4 ts Thyme
* 1 tb Oil
* 1 c Water
* 3 tb Vinegar
* 1 tb Packed brown sugar
* 1/4 c Crushed gingersnap -Cookies
* 1 Bay leaf


Instructions:

Pare core and grate apple to measure 1 cup.Mix with ground beef bread crumbs onion egg and seasonings.Shape into balls about 1 1/2" in diameter.Brown on all sides in oil.Drain excess fat.Combine remaining ingredients;pour over meatballs and bring to boil.Core and cut remaining apples into wedges.Add to skillet.Reduce heat cover simmer 15 to 20 minutes or until apples are tender.Remove bay leaf. Makes 6 servings.
