You may be talking about the Ouija board which is used to communicate with ghosts or people trapped on another plane.Or the scrying crystal and map which is used to find where there is a high level of demon activity. Its an ouja board (pronounced wee-gee), but on charmed they call it a spirit board. An ouja board has all of the letters of the alphabet and nnumbers 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,and 0 on it. The pointer is a triangle shaped devise that you put your fingers on, the pointer has a hole near the tip so when the pointer goes over the numbers or letters you can see them. Its said that if your fingers are on it lightly and it moves then spirits are contacting you through the ouja board.
