hello, i wanna ask u sth, wat should i do for a boy who has severe chickenpox, the whole body is covered and has for 5 days temperature not lover than 38.5 C, could u help me plz, i would really appreciate it!

You can take steps at home to control itching from a chickenpox rash, such as taking oatmeal baths, applying cool compresses, and taking antihistamines by mouth A higher-than-normal temperature kills bacteria and viruses that cause illness. Medications that reduce fever stop this natural process, so these medications should be used only as needed. If a child with chickenpox does not act sick or complain of symptoms, you may choose not to give medication for fever. Most healthy children and adults recover from chickenpox without complications. See a health professional if you have any unusual, persistent, or worrisome symptoms.

Ckicken pox is one of those thngs that no one can really do to help out, rap his hands in socks or wash cloths so when he scratches he wont brake the scab or skin, give him oatmeal baths and run him with wintergreen alcohol (alcohol helps the itching to an extent) rub him with calamin lotion, and give him some benedryl. Other than that just make sure he has plenty or cartoons, movies, and video games to try an occupy his time while he is miserable.

When I had the chicken pox as a younger child, my mom gave me an oatmeal bath. I've also been told to put mittens or socks on a younger child's hands to keep them from scratching.

Let him paint himself with calamine lotion using a paint brush or Q-tips after you soak him in an oatmeal bath. It will keep him busy and hopefully he won't scratch!
