Chocolate Snowballs

Very tender and fragile. A melt-in-your-mouth cookie.

1 1/4 cups butter or hard margarine, softened
2/3 cup granulated sugar
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
2 cups all purpose flour
1/2 cup cocoa
1 1/2 cups ground pecans (or walnuts)
1/2 cup icing (confectioners) sugar
Makes 7 dozen snowballs
Cream butter, granulated sugar and vanilla together well.
Mix in flour, cocoa and pecans.
Shape into 1" balls.
Arrange on ungreased baking sheet.
Bake in 350F oven for about 20 minutes.
When balls are cool enough to handle, roll them in icing sugar.
Cool completely before storing.
