3 c dates, pitted and diced 1 3/4 c flour
1 1/4 c water 1/2 ts baking powder
3/4 c butter 1 1/2 c rolled oats
1/2 c honey
16 servings
Heat dates and water over low heat, stirring until smooth and thick. Let
cool. In separate bowl, cream together butter and honey. Add flour,
baking powder and oats. Flatten 1/2 oat mixture into an 8-inch square
pan. Spread date mix over this as the center layer. Top with remaining
oat mix. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Let cool and then cut into
2 inch squares. Makes 16 two-inch squares.
