DOUGH
1/2 cup water (70º to 80ºF)
1/4 cup butter or margarine (1/2 stick), cut up
1/4 cup milk
1 large egg
1 teaspoon salt
3 cups bread flour
2 tablespoons sugar
2 teaspoons Fleischmann's® Bread Machine Yeast

FILLING
2 tablespoons butter or margarine, softened
1/4 cup sugar
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
Servings: 16
1. To make dough: Measure all dough ingredients into bread machine pan in the order suggested by manufacturer. Process on dough/manual cycle.

2. To shape and fill: When cycle is complete, remove dough to floured surface. If necessary, knead in additional flour to make dough easy to handle. Roll dough to 12 × 6-inch rectangle; spread with 2 tablespoons softened butter.

3. In small bowl, combine 1/4 cup sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg. Remove 2 teaspoons; reserve for topping. Evenly sprinkle remaining sugar mixture over butter. With sharp knife, cut dough lengthwise in half. Stack both halves with spice side up; cut crosswise into 6 pieces. Arrange stacks, standing sideways, in greased 8 × 4-inch loaf pan. Cover; let rise in warm, draft-free place until doubled in size, about 30 to 45 minutes.

4. Evenly sprinkle reserved sugar mixture on dough. Bake at 350ºF for 30 to 35 minutes or until done. Carefully remove from pan; cool on wire rack.

Yield: 1 Loaf

Notes: Dough can be prepared in 1 1/2 and 2-pound bread machines.

* To measure liquid, pour into transparent liquid-ingredient measuring cup; read measurement at eye level.
* To measure flour, spoon into standard dry-ingredient measuring cup; level with straight-edged knife.
