3 1/2 lbs. pre-sifted Monarch soft wheat flour
2 tbsp. salt
1 lb. shortening
1 lb. shortening (second amount)

Blend together flour and salt.
With a pastry blender or two knives, cut in until the consistency of coarse meal, first pound of shortening.
Cut in a second pound of shortening until the size of small peas.
Store in tightly covered canister.
