1 cup shortening
2 cups oatmeal
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 cup brown sugar
2 cups flour
1/4 cup boiling water
Cream together shortening, sugar and boiling water.
Mix flour, baking soda and salt.
Work into creamed mixture.
Add oatmeal.
Drop by spoonfuls onto greased cookie sheet and flatten with floured fork.
Bake for 10 minutes at 375F.
