Shrimp Boil

3 cans (16 oz each) or 4 bottles (12 oz each) beer or 1 1/2 qts water
1 tbsp. salt
3 lbs fresh or frozen raw medium shrimp (in shells)
Cocktail Sauce (below)

In large kettle, heat beer and salt to boiling. Add shrimp; heat just to boiling. Reduce heat; cover and simmer 3 to 5 minutes. Drain.

4 or 5 servings


Cocktail Sauce:

In small bowl, mix 1/2 cup ketchup, 2 to 3 tsp. horseradish and 2 tbsp. lemon juice.

About 2/3 cup sauce
