Recipe Feeder
2 lb ground beef 1 kg
1-1/2 cups fine bread crumbs 375 mL
1 tsp salt 5 mL
pepper to taste
1/4 cup milk 60 mL
1/4 cup applesauce 60 mL
2 eggs, beaten 2
1 tsp minced onion 5 mL
1/4 tsp nutmeg 1 mL
3 tbsp butter 45 mL
2 cups water or chicken stock 500 mL

Combine ingredients except butter, mix well and form into 48 small balls. Brown in butter, then add water or chicken stock to simmer. Cook, covered, for 15 minutes.

Serve over rice or noodles.
Chef's Note

These meatballs freeze well.
