2 cup Sugar
4 tablespoon Butter
2½ cup Water
1 teaspoon Vanilla
2 cup Bisquick
2/3 cup Milk

Heat half the sugar in dutch oven over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until melted. Carefully add butter, remaining sugar and the water. Mixture will harden continue cooking, stirring constantly with a wooden spoon, until the sugar is totally dissolved. Heat to boiling; reduce heat, add vanilla extract. Simmer 5 minutes.

Mix bisquick and milk until soft dough forms. Drop by rounded tablespoonfuls into boiling syrup. Cover tightly; reduce heat. Cook over low heat for 15 minutes. Do not remove lid while cooking. Serve warm and, if desired, with whipped cream.
