3/4 lb butter (3 sticks) 350 g
3 cups sugar 700 mL
5 eggs 5
3 cups all-purpose flour 700 mL
1 cup 7-Up soda 250 mL
1 tbsp lemon extract 15 mL
1 tsp vanilla 5 mL

Preheat the oven to 325°F/160°C. Grease and lightly flour a 10-in/25-cm tube pan.

Cream the butter and sugar. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Add the flour. Add the lemon extract and vanilla. Beat well. Gently fold in the 7-Up, 1/4 cup at a time.

Pour the batter into the prepared pan. Bake for 1-1/2 hours.
