Barbecue Sauce (cooked)

12 cups catsup (1 no. 10 can)
3 quarts water
2 cups cider vinegar
2 tablespoons salt
1 teaspoon black pepper
4 ounces granulated sugar
1 teaspoon chili powder
1/4 cup worcestershire sauce
1 tablespoon hot pepper sauce
4 ounces onion, grated
Yield: 1 1/2 gallons
Combine all ingredients. Simmer 10 minutes. Baste chicken or meat with sauce during cooking.



Notes: 1/2 oz (1/4 cup) dehydrated onion may be substituted for the fresh onion.
