Green Beans with Swiss Cheese Sauce

1 Tbsp butter
1 Tbsp flour
1/2 tsp each sugar and salt
1/8 tsp pepper
1/4 cup milk
1/2 tsp grated onion
1/2 cup sour cream
1-1/2 cups shredded Swiss cheese
2 lbs. whole green beans (can use fresh or canned)
Breadcrumbs
2 Tbsp butter, melted

In a small pan, melt butter and blend in flour, sugar, salt and pepper. Cook, stirring, until bubbly. Blend in milk. Remove from heat and stir in onion and sour cream.

Combine sauce with green beans and cheese. Turn into buttered 1-1/2-quart casserole. Combine breadcrumbs with melted butter and spread on top.

Bake at 400 degrees (F) for 20 minutes.
