Lemon Spice Bread (1 1/2-Pound Recipe)

1/2 cup plus 2 tablespoons water (70º to 80ºF)
1 egg
3 tablespoons lemon juice
3 tablespoons butter or margarine
3 tablespoons sugar
2 tablespoons poppy seeds
1 tablespoon grated lemon peel
3/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
3 cups bread flour
2 teaspoons Fleischmann's® Bread Machine Yeast
Sweet Spice Butter (optional), sweet spice butter

SWEET SPICE BUTTER
1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened
1/3 cup powdered sugar, sifted
1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg (1/8 to 1/4 teaspoon)
Servings: 16
1. Measure all ingredients except Sweet Spice Butter into bread machine pan in the order that the bread machine manufacturer suggests.

2. Process in basic cycle on lightest crust setting (or select medium crust setting based on your machine and preference for crust color).

3. Remove baked bread from pan and cool on wire rack. Serve with Sweet Spice Butter, if desired.

Sweet Spice Butter: In small bowl, combine 1/2 cup softened butter or margarine, 1/3 cup sifted powdered sugar and 1/8 to 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg. Beat until smooth. Cover and chill until ready to serve.

Yield: 1 Loaf

Notes: Select loaf size recommended by your bread machine manufacturer.
